I attended Emerge Vermont Candidate Bootcamp this past May, and WOW! The action-packed, three-day training helped me to jumpstart my campaign. Thanks, Emerge Vermont! This organization supports women Democrats interested in running for municipal, district, or statewide office. The organization came about to address concerns that women make up less than 25% of all elected officials nationwide. The Emerge network now has affiliate organizations in 20 states! Governor Madeleine Kunin is the founder of the Vermont affiliate – Emerge Vermont.
Emerge Vermont gave me the tools, know-how, and encouragement to run for Vermont State Representative. Now its off to the races — the first race in the State Primary on August 14th; the Big ‘Un is Tuesday, November 6th. Don’t forget to vote!
